Role of Student....

The role of the student in the student centered classroom is, quite literally, at the center of the learning process.  The student is an active participant in virtually everything that happens in the classroom.  Students will help make decisions about certain things, such as how a lesson will be delivered or even what is taught.  They may choose to deliver a movie presentation instead of acting out a concept.  The learner will have as much freedom as possible given the other contextual factors that the teacher needs to consider.  The student will take responsibility for what is learned and be accountable for the results of the learning process.  The students will aid each other while working to achieve the established learning goals.  They will help each other see themselves as a result of the learning process instead of a sounding board for a windy teacher.  This philosophy will help students be more introspective along with helping engage them on a more regular basis.
